Picnic kick start

 It was far to wet and rainy to have a picnic so I decided to have mine indoors. My first step was to make some food for the picnic. I made some banana and blueberry muffins. Next I packed the bag, got the picnic blanket and some cushions. Next set them out and had the picnic. Below are some photos.

Mondrian art kick start

Today I learnt how to do Mondrian art. I thought choosing which cells to merge and which cells to colour was fun. I didn't find this activity too challenging.

Catapult

 Yesterday was Monday so the first activity is a nano girl one. So for the activity we made catapults.

 For this activity we ccould choose option A or Option B to put all the places on a map.

For the SLJ today we had to make a camping checklist.

Summer sound

 I have made this sound. I wanted to like make it a bit like summer so it might not sound so good because for the sound I wrote summer.

Symmetry kick start

For this activity I started of by playing a game called sea floor symmetry.

Then my task was to create a photo collage with symmetry lines.

Spinning water

 Today we did another nanogirl activity. Today's activity was learning about gravity. I first did the one where the glass manages to hold the card board take a look.

After that I did the spinning water one. I have done this twice before. Each time successful but....

Summer Collage

 I decided not to make my collage in a table because I wanted mine to have a bit of overlapping. I chose these images because to me they all relate to summer. The hat because you should wear one in the summer, the flowers because you see the prettiest flowers in the summer. The sea because the heat drags everyone there, the sunglasses protect your eyes in the summer and other seasons but mostly summer.

This is yesterdays kick start activity.  I learnt some Maori vocabulary.

Build a sundial

 

Today we did another Nanogirl activity. We made a sundial. Here is the finished project

I also added  throughout the day what time it was when the sun castes the shadow there.

UV indicator and protection

 

I am very sorry I am so late on this post. It is because when this activity was due it was my dads birthday and then yesterday I didn't get round to do the SLJ.  

For this activity I learnt a lot about UV lights and sun protection and sun cream. My favourite part of this activity was probably designing the indicator.

Compressive strength

 

Today for the experiment I had already done all the prep if you want to see what the the prep was click here. The circular ones ended up also holding my scissors, all the pencils and rubbers. It still hadn't collapsed but I didn't know what else to put on it so I stopped.  I was surprised when the flat ones couldn't even hold the roof, when nano girl did it it managed to hold the roof. I enjoyed this activity.
