Podcast

For the step it up we had to chose a topic of books that I enjoyed. I didn't know how I was going to do this activity because I didn't have that many books around the same topic. I then remembered the box of old fairy tales and nursery rhymes so I had a look at that and so that is what my topic was.

Here is my reflection

When I was younger I remember my father reading me all these different books. This included fairy tales. Now a days if I am reading fairy tales it will probably be for kids lit.

Renee from the Summer Learning Journey Team, here. You will have probably seen that I have left you a comment on your post that related to the “Kick Start” aspect of this activity. The same thing applies to this post. You should have received an email requesting to give me permission to access the file you have uploaded in this post as I am not currently able to do so (and neither is anyone else visiting your blog).

I am really looking forward to listening to your recording once I have access. Thank you!

Yes sorry about that the only one that was shared was the snow white one on the last slide. I have changed the sharing settings now so hopefully you will be able to access those that you couldn't before.

      Thanks for your comment,
      Molly :)

Thank you for granting me access to your recordings! Firstly, I wanted to say well done for completing both the “Kick Start” and “Step it Up” aspects of this activity. That is awesome and means that you have earned extra points towards your Summer Learning Journey tally. Secondly, can I just say again (as I mentioned in my comment on your Kick Start post) that you have a wonderful public speaking style - your voice is so expressive and I feel transported into whichever story that you are reading.

I think it was a great idea to focus on fairy tales as the subject for your podcast and it’s awesome that you have shared yourself reading this excerpt. In order to complete this activity you should also share your reflection on the excerpt and explain what you learned in the process of making this recording.

For the reflection section you could discuss whether your perspective on fairy tales is different now compared to when you were younger?

Ka pai for your mahi on this blogpost - keep up the awesome blogging!

    1. Hey Renee

Thanks for your positive and thoughtful comment.

Yes that is a great idea for your reflection and I have done just that.

If you had to do a podcast on a topic of books what would your topic be?

That's awesome that you updated your post, well done. It is always great to include some reflection in your posts about how you found the activity and what you learned. We love hearing about this in the Summer Learning Journey Team. I love reading so I would find it so hard to choose one book or even a series but I think I would love to listen to a podcast all about the Harry Potter novels as there are so many layers to the story and the world that the books are set in is so detailed so I think there would be so much to talk about.

    4. Mōrena Molly - I really like Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as well but my favourite is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Hopefully you will get a chance to read the other books soon. Once you do, you should write a blog about it - I would love to read that!

Ngā mihi nui and keep up the excellent blogging.
