Blue whales - report writing
Blue whales - information report
We are lucky to live with the largest mammal to ever have lived, the blue whale. Though they once nearly became extinct. For an animal this big what would they eat?
The blue whale is known for its size. It is the largest animal on the planet. Have you seen an elephant? A blue whale weighs up to approximately 33 elephants. That is 181436.948 kg WOW! Think of the size of an adult man, now times that by 1000 and there you have a blue whale. Blue whales are huge creatures. How could they become endangered?
Blue whales are endangered. They have a population of 25,000 but it is thankfully not currently decreasing. Blue whales became endangered by humans from our past and current acts. Whaling started around the 11th century. It peaked in between 1846-1852. The U.S stopped whaling in 1970. At that point blue whales were nearly extinct. Nowadays the problem for blue whales and other whales is fishing nets and plastic in the ocean. About 300,000 whales, dolphins and porpoises die each year because of fishing gear. Over the past 10 years 57 whales have died from plastic. This gets into their body when they are eating.
What do you think blue whales eat? How would they eat? Blue whales eat krill. The biggest blue whales can eat up to 6 tons of krill in 1 day. Lots of sea water gets in their mouths when they are eating. They have this sort of sive in their mouth to get rid of the water. It is funny how the biggest creature on earth would eat such a small creature.
The blue whale is huge, the biggest creature on the planet, It is endangered with only 25,000 left in the world and a krill eating mammal.

Limerick - The was once this teacher
The other day I wrote a limerick. When you write a limerick the first, second and last line have to rhyme and the 3rd and 4th line have to rhyme. Here is a limerick I wrote.
There was once this teacher
who had a furry little creature
It ate a little student
It was very imprudent
Now it’s a child eater
That was winter
I have written a that was winter poem. Everyone else did a that was summer poem but because I have done on of them in the past I did not do one.
That was Winter
Remember
Sitting by the fire
Piled under lots of blankets
You creep closer towards the flame
trying to touch it.
You get up to do something.
Making cookies to lighten up the day.
Then letting them melt in your mouth
laughing with your family.
Remember
Playing board games
Hour after hour to past time.
Waiting for the sun
To break the darkness
Waiting for ever and ever
Soon asleep.
That was winter

Digital photos - back flip off the Eiffel tower
This was my favourite digital photo I made and by far the hardest. I used the same removebg.com and unsplash.com.
Digital photos - riding a tiger
This is another digital photo I did. I quite like this one. We used removebg.com and unsplash.com to make these pictures as well as our editing skills.
Digital photos - Strong me
Last year we did these digital photos. We had to use remove background and unsplash for images. Because there are only two people in the class from last year we did them again in this photo I am easily carrying 100 kg.

Fish in a tree - letter to Mrs Nickerson
We read some more Fish in a tree today. In this chapter Ally managed to solve a mystery that over 100 other student couldn't. Here is a letter from Mr Daniels to Ally's Mum that I have written.

Dear Mrs Nickerson
I am Mr Daniels, your daughter Ally Nickerson’s teacher. I am writing to you to inform you how smart your daughter is. I did this test with over 100 students and she was the only one who managed to get the correct answer. This test was where I gave them a box and asked them what was inside. It was two glue sticks taped to two sides though. This confused everyone else but Ally managed to get this correct.
I have also found out from another student that Ally is amazing at art. You have such a talented daughter.
I feel very privileged to have Ally in my class.
Yours sincerely
Mr Daniels
