Cross Country

On Monday we had cross country. As a year 8 I had to do 3 laps of rugby park and Grey Main school field combined. On the second lap we went out the gate up the hill and came back into the school grounds on the other side of the school. I did okay and ended up 5th.

Perimeter work book

Our maths work book this week was based on perimeter.

Descriptive writing

This week one of our tasks was to create a piece of descriptive writing about an image and pretend we are there.

The sun beams down upon me. Surrounded by a cloudless sky. Only a few seagulls accompany the sun. I play in the icy waves. Laughing like a hyena. I swim carelessly towards the shore. Enjoying the light breeze on my face. The palm trees wave as I return to shore. The sand is hot beneath my feet. I run swiftly to get in the shade. I taste the salty sea water as the wind carries it into my face. Watching as the sun slowly slips down down towards the sea. The sudden coldness hits me. Walking across the soft sand I pull my blanket tighter over me. The night sky stares at me with the twinkling stars winking at me.

Send to: Greymouth 7805

Dear Mum

I have just arrived in gallipoli. The air is completely black, I am assuming that is from all the smoke. It also helps hide the bombers which frightens me. I am getting to work tomorrow hoping I can save some lives. Hopefully this war ends soon because I don’t think anyone is enjoying it here. The yells of pain and shouts for help are getting to me. Even though I haven't been here long. In the background you can hear gun fires and screams. It is hard to imagine tomorrow I will be heading into the heart of that. I am happy that I will be able to help the brave soldiers who are battling for our countries.

Looking forward to returning home and seeing you again.

Love

Molly
