Fiona here from the SLJ. WOW - I am so impressed by the way you have designed your dam using natural materials and used the sink to test your structure. I really like the way you report in your blog that you tested water flow and the water didn't run through. This is an important finding - ka pai!
Did you put the big stones at the bottom and the small stones on top, so they didn't fall down the plug? You have done a great job.
I'm going to take a look at your 'Step it Up' post now for this activity!
Yeah I guess I put the big stones there for that reason but also because that is how the beavers do it. They have big stones at the bottom the logs and then mud, small stones, leaves that fill in the gaps.
