My jingle bells (singing edition) & the difference between northern and southern hemisphere at Christmas time.

The difference between the northern and southern hemisphere

The biggest difference between the northern and southern hemisphere at Christmas time is the weather. In the northern hemisphere it is winter while in the southern it is summer. This results in people in the northern hemisphere to more likely to go to bed early and in the southern hemisphere to stay up later. Another difference that people are seeing more of is that in the southern hemisphere people are using fake Christmas trees while in the northern they are still using real ones. Due to the different seasons even the presents can be different. In the southern hemisphere because it is summertime you are more likely to get something for the outside like a cricket set. In the northern hemisphere you probably aren't going to get that because of the wet weather and the snow and you don't really play cricket in those conditions.

  1. Kia Molly,

Fiona here again from the SLJ team. WOW - you have really stepped it up and done a great job recording yourself singing your very own version of Kiwi Jingle Bells! I'm so impressed by your excellent summary detailing the differences between the northern and southern hemispheres. You have pointed out some important points here - ka pai! I had never thought about the different trees, very interesting.

For this blog post I am definitely awarding you BONUS POINTS because of all the extra effort you have put in.

I’m very excited to see more of your awesome mahi.

    Great stuff, Molly!

    Fiona (SLJ).

    1. Hey Fiona

My singing doesn't sound that good because I had a cold when I did that activity. My nose was complexly blocked. Thanks for the bonus points.

      Thanks

      Molly :)
