It’s Shannon here from the Summer Learning Journey.

Thank you for this Summer Haiku. Your picture and the words you used made me feel like I was really enjoying Summer. You included all my favourite parts of Summer; ice cream, swimming and heat.

I really liked the way you presented this post and am looking forward to seeing how you stepped it up in your next post.

What are you planning to do in your holidays?

    Ka kite anō,

    1. Hello Molly,

I'm planning on moving houses, writing my thesis, and doing some work!

What would you like to do this holidays?

      Bye for now,

    2. Hi Molly!

I've moved houses quite a lot, so I've had a bit of practice which made moving a little easier! I'm all done now, settling into my new house!

When I went to university and got my degree, I decided I really liked studying and I really liked economics so I chose to stay at uni and do what's called a masters which is basically where I learn enough about my subject (economics) that I'm a master of it. To finish my masters, I have to prove I learnt things in my classes by writing my thesis over summer, which is basically a mini book about an experiment or research I did into an area of economics that I like. I chose to write about gender economics which is about where you can find differences in the number of girls and boys in certain jobs and why this might be the case. When I finish my thesis, it will be about 15,000 words, isn't that crazy!

Have you ever written a really long piece of writing? Maybe a story or a poem?

      Bye for now,
      Shannon (SLJ)
