My Fruit art

Today for the SLJ I did some fruit art. I was inspired by the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. I found these 3 facts about him.

1)  Arcimboldo took nature seriously.

2)  Despite the royal acclaim his fame faded.

3)  Today he is beloved around the world.

My art work is made up of all these different fruits and vegetables I have drawn. The neck is an eggplant, the mouth is a banana, the nose is a pear, the cheeks are apples, the eyes are strawberrys, the ears are cucumbers, the hair is a brown onion and all this is on a plate with a knife and fork on either side.

I then also did the step it up which was make an art wrk of fruit on a google draw and screen castify talkiing about it.

  1. Kia ora Molly,

WOW! I am so impressed by your fruit and vegetable inspired artwork, and how you have Stepped it Up to make a video - ka pai!

I think Mrs. Peach looks fantastic with two big strawberry eyes, tasty avocado ears and a cheeky eggplant smile. Great work! All your different fruits look great together; I think Giuseppe Arcimboldo would be most impressed by your two creations!

Did you enjoy learning about the Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo? I thought he was such an interesting artist and very clever to create such detailed paintings.

Keep up the great learning and blogging over the summer.

  2. Kia ora Molly,

I'm so glad you enjoyed learning about Giuseppe Arcimboldo. I remember learning about Arcimboldo at school in art class, but that was a long time ago! Doing this activity reminded me all about his interesting life.

Keep up the great learning over the summer!

  3. Mōrena Molly!

I have heard of Frida Kahlo but I don't know a lot about her art. I remember she does amazing portraits. Do you like her art work?
Did you know that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are all named after famous Italian painters? Pretty cool, huh!

    Keep up the great blogging!
